I got my DJI Mavic Pro few weeks back and i just want to share my thoughts and experience using this new successful DJI product.
By the first look I was just shaking my head and wonder how itโs possible for a such device to be so popular, but after the first flight I understood why.
DJI has made a very good job when it comes to usability. All menus are self-explaining, and very well documented. However, some functions needs practice to find as they are located deep nested within the Dji-Go application.
First flight was just like driving a modern car with adaptive cruise and auto pilot. It was rock solid and did not do anything breakneck by its own.
Another thing that surprised me was the range this drone managed to fly without losing video or Radio signals. If there is nothing in between the radio and Mavic you can basically fly the range of your batteries, and with 25min flight time you get pretty far away.
Iโm not a photographer but the video quality is more than enough for my usage. Iโm usually recording in
4K : 3840 x 2160 30fps. Gimbal seems little flimsy, especially the cables and mount brackets, but the video is steady and its actually doing a great job even in high wind velocity.
The new design for remote controller is just amazing, all drones from here on should be using this design. Fits well into my hand.
Here is a video with no post color grading , just raw footage of south coast of Norway.
