Agree, new thread is the best.. 🙂
BillyLam I tried enter the external ip of the pi with no successes. I also tried create a host in no-ip.com.
You should be able to access the web interface when typing in the external ip of your LTE modem.. However, if it dont work, then you provider probably has blocket or NAT`d your modem..
One way to fix this is by changing APN name which has "public" IP address.
You dont need to access the Web interface if you configure everuthing on you local network and just activate autoboot. UAVcast will then start streaming to your Ground Control station ip address as soon as it boots.
If you add host in no-ip.com as DNS, then just ping that address from your laptop to see when you get response from RPI.
BillyLam For my particular setup (laptop to home wifi, pi to 4G dongle) , Which one should be use (uqmi or wvdial) in the cellular modem tap?
Very few modem support UQMI. I would have chosen wvdial as most modems supports this software.
Some modems even has bundled software and connects on its own.
take a screenshot of ifconfig
command and lsusb
when modem is connected. That will tell us more about your current modem.
BillyLam And just to clarify, for the DNS tap, what do I need to put in Alias tap?
Alias = Your_Unique_DNS Example (drone.no-ip.info)
BillyLam as you mention earlier if UDP is used we don't need to do port forwarding, but from the above video you posted , my understanding is that we need to adjust to setting in the Huawei dongle.
Everything you need to adjust should be in the Web interface. Normally you only need to change APN name.
Keep in mind that not all cell vendor uses same configuration, so this might me different in your case.
