4G LTE EQ question

Hi!
would you advise me the differences of the 4G LTE control by using usb LTE dongle like huawei
and by using 4G LTE wireless router in the copter? actually i am making the structure by using 4G LTE router
but i found you used the usb dongle and want to know the differences actually.

when i use the 4G LTE router, latency is about 200~250ms . the combination of RPI2+APM 2.6+4G LTE router
and 4G LTE router+notebook(GCS).

Hi Elon and welcome.

I dont think there is alot of differences. Using a router will require a onboard Wi-Fi network, and that itself could cause problems if you are using 2.4Ghz radio transmitter as well.

Are you streaming video and telemetry or just the latter?
Please share the video resolution and your settings.

as i know, my 4G LTE router hadn't the WIFI Function and i connected the logitec joystick extreme 3d pro
to my notebook. i did the experiment in Jan this year but after then, i had been sick long time and
recently recovered^{^.} so i will check my dusty plane's EQ and show settings soon.

during the test at that time, i succeeded video streaming and controlling together in my house
re video resolution, case of 640x480, it was 230~240ms and when i changed it to 1080x~,

i remembered, latency was raised as o/a 300ms.
but, when i tested in the suburb, i failed to connect the network.

so i doubted my EQ strings of 4G LTE router was wrong and wanted to know
your settings of 4G LTE dongle.

also as i know, WIFI can't be useful in the suburb(no repeater in the field),
i really want to know how your WIFI dongle can do the video streaming
and sending control signal without disconnection.

Hi Elon. I'm using a RPI2 with a 2.4ghz WiFi adapter for streaming video and telemetry and a Verizon 4glte hotspot. Also, I have 2.4ghz Futaba radio control and no problems.

as i know, the video streaming and telemetry can be done by the 4g lte hot spot coverage only,
then, was there no disconnection during your flight?
i understand now you are mixing the method of FPV+telemetry as WiFi and
controlling the plane or copter as 2.4ghz Radio.

i want to know your setting of FPV+telemetry in details.
also the goal of my experiments was to do control the plane regardless of distance
and range by using 4G LTE networks. so i installed 4G LTE router on my plane.
as i said, i succeeded in my house but failed it in the suburb.

Hi.
There is no disconnection in my flights. I have telemetry and 720p video at 15fps. My video breaks up a little bit here and there. I take off using my Futaba radio, turn it off (automatically goes to return to launch) and take control with my laptop and logitech gamepad fully over 4gtle. I am using mission planner and and not limited by what parameters I choose and always have a good signal.

oh, it's a very ideal method to use Radio & network control selectively! i have not reached the level to make it and want to learn how to align the mechanism smoothly.
