Dear Donald,
very sorry, for your setup troubles.
Don't worry, in the case your 4Gmetry doesn't work properly, we will send you a new one for free.
By connecting your monitor via HDMI, the Ubuntu GUI will start - on the desk you will find 2 text files, with all the info you need, including the system password. You may want to change the password and temporarly disable the GUI in a second time. One file is a quickstart, the other is more detailed/advanced. All the necessary sw is already installed and you've just to comment/uncomment lines.
We assume that digital documentation is better for the final user, in this way you can copy/paste lines, and comment/uncomment easily with no digiting efforts. E.g.: for pointing to your GCS you just have to change the GCS's IP.
The FTDI cable goes into the Pixhawk Telemetry 2 port and power comes from your onboard (rover, plane, copter) power module (5V 4A).
Problems happens: if something described above doesn't work or some hw results broken, please take in mind that our policy is to fully change it at our expenses.
Included in your 4Gmetry, you've full support: 4gmetry@voltarobots.com. Take advantage of it!
At your service,
S.
