25km flight, One problem.

Today i was flying for approxematly 30min using Navio+ & RPI2 inclusive 4G and Gamepad. Everything works â€‹flawlessly, exepct that gstreamer lags to much.( picture goes step by step in 200 - 400ms periode )
I did some research today and i found out that when i stop the instance of ArduPlane, gstreamer works perfect.
It seems somhow that ArduPlane and gStreamer is in conflict, and i dont know why..

One reason could be that both gStreamer and ArduPlane is streaming simultaneously, or another possibillities could be beacouse of the Real Time Kernel in RPI2.

Is there anyone else having this problem?

Hey Sinamics,
I admire your work, I think it is awesome. I plan to do something similar.
I have a question however, have you managed to fix this problem with the bad latency?
If not should I get a pixhawk and raspberry pi instead?

The issue is related to the Real Time Kernel. If you set overclocking to 1000Mhz the quality is really good, but unfortunately APM software won’t run when overclocking.
Se this thread at Emlid.com. Overclocking issue is a well-known problem at Emlid.com

Navio+ board is awesome and guys at emlid are working to get this solved.

You could also use PiCam, as this won’t lag even though overclocking is set to Normal, but PiCam is generating to much noise and will kick out the GPS signal. You could make some sort of shield to reduce the noise.

If you dont wont to hassle with it, just go for Pixhawk and TTL to ethernet.
