[unknown] Hej all, and bravo for the new site!
What would be the best (most reliable, best speed, lightest, etc) LTE / 4G modem to use in Europe or more specifically Sweden?
I'm trying to to use the Huawei E3372 with a static IP sim card, but it seems the Hylink software on the stick is doing some blocking. I can connect to the outer world, but can't get pings to my static ip to answer.
Hi ffff
I don think there s much diffrence in weight between those USB sticks, but if you looking into building a PCB board yourself you could use something like this
http://nimbelink.com/skywire-cellular-modem-lte/
I would choosen a USB stick with pre-buildt connection software. Such devices are usually marked with
WPS,Built-in DHCP server, DNS Relay and NAT
Those devices dont need wvdial or UQMI, all the connections is handled within the stick itself. Just plug it into RPI and you are connected.
If you are using UAVcast, then just set the GSM_Connect to Ethernet
#Options; uqmi, wvdial, Ethernet
GSM_Connect="Ethernet"
Huawei E3372
Are you using this for GCS or onboard RPI?
Reason im asking is that you actually dont need to open any ports in the onboard RPI as long as you are using UDP protocoll
Onboard RPI UDP -> (Outbound dosn't require open ports) -> GCS (Inbound packages needs ports to be open)
