Best 4G LTE setup connection for (2017)

Hello all,

I'm new to the cellular UAV community and I have just started to reading materials and methods for building my own 4G UAV. However I have realised majority of instructional post was posted in 2015. I'm wondering if there is any current setup with lowest latency and good video transmission performance?

Been trying to understand all of these things (raspberry pi, putty, port forwarding, ssh etc) and my parts is on the way also.

I know, much of the material is outdated. Use UAVcast as described here

Should be strait forward.
Use either PiCam or C920 to achive the best result in terms of video.

Keep in mind that due to a UDP bug in ser2net you will need to use TTL to ethernet convert, or you could use ser2net with TCP.

I will see if i find the time to create a type of a fluid checklist / post for Cell configurations. That way we might keep latest knowledge in one place.

Sinamics yea that would be very helpful for somebody like me who have no knowledge of computer networking. Thank you for your time by making this happen.

After reading majority of the posts, the whole picture started to be a little bit clear but still no 100% sure . So it would be great if you could create a semantic or description of which software allow which connection 😃 hope it make sense.

Btw I have some question:

1) How to find out my local cellular provider allow port forwarding? (I read a post in here is a guy from Hong Kong also tried and confirm ''China mobile'' and ''Smart tone'' have port restriction.) My solution is to just try on the parts, so I have to confirm this before I move on.

2) UAVcast work on Pixhawk in the tutorial, but is there any reason why we cannot use Navio2 apart from cost ?
