Huawei E3372 connection problem

So, I recently got myself a nice little Huawei E3372. Suppose it is stick as it is not working on the PC without running the software for it.
The problem is the modemanager is halting in the script. it stop at "starting modem-manager"

the stick stays at the blinking cyan light that indicates the registering process to LTE

UAV-cast worked fine with my old ZTE MF91D Telenor Modem. But that was using hilink mode.

It makes no difference if I plug it in a powered usb hub.

I just released new version yesterday, v2.0.3 with improved modem functionalities.
I will send you a new link by mail.

Also, do you use internal address ttyUSB0, from your pervious post. (primary port: 'ttyUSB0')

I see now that inside the stick it says E3372h - 153
But the stange part is it is not usable in windows until the software connects it......

I have installed 2.0.3. The only difference for me was the modem is now red. (Was green earlier, but no connection)
I have tried internal adresses ttyUSB0, ttyUSB1, cdc-wdm0 and wwan0.
They all result in the same scenario:

But modem stays disconnented and is still red in configuration...

I dont know what to try next. I am not good at linux. Was going to try to add some new modemrules, but did not get past permission blocking... The reason I got the E3372 was the reported sucess with UAV-cast. Do you have any more insight?

Have you tried:

APN: use internet.public if you are using Telenor
Try with "Use Modem Manager" to Yes and No. (Restart PI after you have changed this setting)
Use the internal address as stated as Primary Port in Modem information.
Make sure your Pin Code is correct.
Insert your modem into a laptop and make sure you can connect to internet with provided software. Just to make sure the USB modem works.
Press "Connection Status" in UAVcast => Modem page. What does is say?

I bought UAVcastpro last week. Although I have little Linux knowledge the installation was no problem. Great Webinterface. Everything worked right . Thanks to the developer. Only the huawei E3372h did not work. Everything written in this thread, I tried without success. I noticed , that the "drive" of my LTE stick contained only software for windows (!!! The stick is branded by german telekom). I then bought an unbranded huawei E3372h on which Linux firmware exists !!!! After installing this firmware this E3372h works fine in HiLink-Mode.

Yes, i get one of the two E3372H-153 Sticks working. It works with a newly purchased Huawei E3372H-153 in HiLink-Mode after installing the linux software that was on the sticks USB Storage. The USB Storage device of this stick contains installation software for linux, apple and windows.
The second E3372H-153 Stick sold by t-online together with a sim-card had only the windows installation software on its USB storage device and probably did not work on the raspberry due to the missing linux installation software.

Rolf-G The one not working is not Hilink modem. You get wwan0 which idicate that this modem is configured as Stick. (HiLink should show eth1 interface)
Try select stick in Uavcast and connect.

I know the code editor is buggy, i will update this forum core modules very soon.

Yes you are right. H stands for Hilink, but they can be flashed with Stick firmware and visa - versa.

I will try to install the stick modem in the next few days and will report here. First of all, I am very satisfied, because I do not need 2 sticks. Next I want to install the system on a Pi0. The Pi3 B instllation is just for testing on the bench.

Yes pi0w is a prefect choice, lightweight and fits very easily in a UAV.

The installation on the Pi0w works too. The Hilink stick was recognized immediately (after switching the connection to eth0 - A small note in the user interface, that on Pi Zeros etho is the correct connection maybe perhaps helpful? at least for those Linux illiterates like me). Finally, I put the SD card in a Pi 0 (without Wifi - I do not need Wifi airborne), where your program also works without problems. An excellent program - Thanks for development.
