Newbie can't get Huawei MS2372 modem to work

I'm having trouble getting UAVCast to work with a Huawei MS2372 modem. On the Cell Modem page I can't get the Green light to go on although I've tried a lot of different options on the page. To provide some background, I've setup UAVCast following the UAVCast wiki instructions. The RPI3 has a Huawei MS2372 modem plugged into one of it's USB ports. I've also connected a an ethernet cable to the RPI3 which allows me to connect to the UAVCast web page (i.e. URL=http://192.168.2.19/cell-modem).

The RPI is connected to a CubeBlack flight controller's Serial1 port. The flight controller is running "latest" ArduPilot (Copter-4.0.0-dev). I've got Mission Planner running on my main PC and it's successfully connecting using UDP (over the LAN). I can move the flight controller around and see it's attitude in Mission Planner update.

BTW, I'm one of the main developers of ArduPilot so I'm happy to dig into the ardupilot parts but I honestly don't know a lot about Ubuntu and networking.

Thank you for testing UAVcast, and sorry for the late reply. Even though the Stick MS2372 is not listed as a supported modem i guess it should work.

Try with these settings:
Model: Stick
Manager: Modem Manager (You can also test Network manager)
Interface: wwan0
APN: Your cell provder apn name. (Google your provider name and APN).
Internal Address: ttyUSB2 This is listed as Primary port in your mmcli logfile.
Username: [blank]
Password: [blank]

Let me know if this works.

Thanks for the advice. I think I have it working now because although I'm still not able to connect over the internet, the modem's LED is now reliably flashing green.

Just for the record this is what I had to do:

I'm using a Huawei MS2372h-607 (purchased from soracom in Japan)
This web page had APN and login info
On the uavcast cell-modem page:
- Enable: Yes
- Model: Stick
- Model: nmcli
- Interface: wwan0
- APN: soracom.io
- Internal Address: ttyUSB2
- Username: sora
- Password: sora
- Pin: left blank

Next steps is setting up a VPN I think so I can connect over the internet. thanks again!

EDIT: VPN setup was pretty easy using zerotier. telemetry is working!
