Goal Fly my aircraft only by 4G/LTE cellular network, have live video feed and telemetry and have an on-board extra coputational power. Extra on-board Hardware ODroid XU3 - powerd by Samsung Exynos5422 (the same of Galaxy S5) - octa core 4xA15 CPUs + 4xA7 CPUs. Huawei E3272s - 4G LTE cat. 4 - 153 150 Mbps in DL e 50 Mbps in UL (!). RS232 TTL Ethernet converter Assembly I connect the TTL to Ethernet serial to PixHawk telemetry port (it can send telemetry and receive gamepad input), then i plug the RJ45 in the oDroid. I connect the Huawei E3272s to the USB 3.0 of oDroid. Software gStreamer (on oDroid) UDPredirect (on oDroid) Problem I'm getting crazy with my ISP (s) - i'm always behind a NAT and i cannot open/forward ports. I also have a good piece of news. I installed Lubuntu on oDroid XU3, and the Huawei E3272s immediatly works smoothly (no need of Sakis3G, just plug&play). This is the result: Now (@office) the 4G signal strength is 1 out 4. In other places i get 4/4 with x10 speeds (90Mbit/s download, 35Mbit upload) which is Super! On the other hand I cannot establish a link between GCS (Mission Planner) and oDroidXU3 (via Huawei) because of network NAT.

EXACTLY. oDroid XU3 + http://www.odroid.in/ubuntu_14.04lts/ Just plug&play. Fully tested in Italy (we have 4GPlus / Cat. 4 150Mbit/s DL 50Mbit/s UL). However I cannot MAVlink my Laptop (+4G Dongle) with oDroid (+4G Dongle),because of above. I cannot even install Apache and use it as a server on 80. My cell operator ( Telenor ) also have some restriction based on which APN im using. So for example, if im using "internet" as my APN, i will have the same problem as you. Cant open ports or access any application from outside. If im using "internet.public" as APN, then i got full access and can do whatever i want. Could it be that your problem is simply becouse of using wrong APN?

The issue not being able to establish a connection from mobile to mobile is simply the carrier grade NAT (gcNAT) most carriers apply to consumer and flat rate tariffs. cgNAT is the same like the NAT at your SOHO router, but your are not the admin and can nit forward/open ports. to circumstance the issue, you have three options: Get an expensive commercial machine-to-machine contract Use a public server like AWS as man in the middle, which adds latency, similar to dronedeploy Implement double NAT punch through, like Skype or VoIP does. You will need a public server as registry for establishing the connection. Connection will be mobile-2-mobile like with Skype or any VoIP I haven't found a free program/library yet... 🙁 BR bjoern

I think i understand what you are trying to achive.
You want to stream to your virtual EC2 server and access that server with mission planner or redirect the EC2 server stream to you local computer?

Maybe if you esablish a VPN network or something like that to your EC2 server, and then connect the MP to your aircraft.
Im not familiar with EC2, so i dont know its`s capabilities.

Probably the best solution is to use VPN to securely manage the vehicle fleet with secure dedicated tunnelling across NAT/firewalls/Routers. http://diydrones.com/group/telemetry-over-cellular-ip/forum/topics/4gmetry-telemetry-over-4g

Thx for the information.
Im currently looking into using server such as AWS. The big question is the latency this will create.
There is alot of extra stuff we can create if we use a server between our GCS and aircraft, so i really hoping for good test results.

If not, M2M will be a good alternative.
Please share if you have any further information or experience with servers like AWS.

Sure: 2 options.

Use the built in VPN, signing as beta tester of the service. VPN gives you the virtual IP of your 4Gmetry
Buy a M2M SIM, so your carrier gives you a static IP

Hi Sinamics, I would be really interested in what the answer was to your question. I am about to purchase a 4Gmetry III and I don't know the history of the device. I am hoping to be able to fly using 4G cellular coverage and also stream live video.
