Brent ...did not have much time to play around but I could not connect my MP trought my local network...anyway tomorrow I will get my new sim with static public ip address for my airbox... (i have asked ports to be opened from internet )...for sure I will need help to configure the beast. i will let you know. cheers vincent

Brent I need you help.
I copied excatly like you post and configured pi on my local network. The TTL seems to work fine (I can ping it) but I m still enable to communicate with MP over UDP...

Here are my set up in case you see something wrong

IP wlan0 (pi with edimax adaptor) 192.168.2.177
ETH0 (pi) 192.168.3.100 (changed subnet to 3)
TTL 192.168.3.50 on mode UDP server
IP local laptop : 192.168.2.186 gateway router : 192.168.2.1

I attached a bush of photo so you can double check everything. I can ping from the pi : the TTL, the ETH0, my ip laptop, internet (attached screen shots) from the pi everything wrong from laptop cannot ping the TTL neither the ETH0 but I guess it's normal..no communication from laptop to pi..but the other way yes. I checked the cable to the TTL from the PI, TX => RX , RX => TX ...looks to me a hardware issue but cannot find it.. DroneStart.sh start fine (screen shot) , the UDP redirect seems to show my GGS laptop IP ... can SSH from laptop to pi no problem

don't know what to check next ? thanks for your help

the udp port is correct on MP 14550 ... MP version is the latest (beta) :: i don't have a screenshot of TTL config ... but was straight forward and connected strasigh without putting the /24 at the end of IP
I did it eventually but still could not connect to MP..

Seems like you got everything correct.
I bet your problem is either TX/RX connected wrong, or you are running RPI / TTL from diffrent power source. Serial commuincation needs common ground to work.

TX/RX looks fine to me but I will re-check again.
yes I was running different power to TTL but on my last test I was using power from Pixhawk..more testing this week end.
by the way I have received my SIM card with static IP public address so I will need your help to set up.... but I want first to make it work over wifi ..

yo it Works
indeed the ground for powering the TTL was key..I had to make my own cable to make it works..
now next step will be to use my 3g set up. I have received my SIM with static IP address. so I will need your help for set up ...
first question I have only one sim with static IP ..so where does it go ..in the rapsberry 3 or on the dongle laptop ?

work great with my 3/4g usb stick (on pc) with static address. same config as per the video over wifi..just change update static IP address on dhcpcd file and it works directly. will try on my plane now to test the range ...

Yes i did a test flight and at 3 kms from home i had 84% telemetry... i will update video soon...sorry i was away.

Couple of Q

Seems like there has been very hot inside?? There are some burn marks at the top cover!
Which GPS type do you use?
What is the screen type thing in the front?

The burn mark was a great idea of mine to put esc inside with a wrong propeller/ battery type = nearly burn everthing ... strange because i knew it but still done it ?

The black box at the front is my alcatel mifi modem 4 g lte from orange ... could not configure my stick 4g ...pretty bad but with the mifi works great !!

The gps is from drotek.com a great French start up who makes electronics in Toulouse ( next to airbus) quality is amazing ( no cheap chinese pcb) with a great price. This gps is xl version of M8N at eur 30 who can pick up 17 sats.. there are smaller ones too

I would love to see some vids from your flight.. Did it respond as you hoped for? was there any issues during flight?

Oh, btw, do you use Panasonic Batteries? seems very identically to mine. 🙂 😃

Sinamics yes i build my own batteries now either from recycled laptop or new ones... this one is 3s/6000 mah ....

Sinamics can t remember weight but it s same as turniguy 5000 mah... flight time never went till the end so not sure

I used uavcast only for telemetry no video feed yet. No issues , i think at some stage i lost connection, but re connected ....
