must have a ground issue again..I'm power both rasp & pixhawk with usb cable from same pc.. leaving a ground cable from rasp to pixhawk connected on GPIO... I can ping from rasp to my IP GCS address so ... it should be working ...more investigation...

vibmad Hello sir! where you are with your tests? Sorry about qustions but do have also PI3 and cannot connect it with pixhawk ( older ver than your one ). I`m trying to understand how peoples run this conection ( without TTL2ETH ) and seems you have similar problem to me. Maybe I still doing something wrong with my configuration or PI3 side ... I dont know.

All,

I installed and configured UAVcast for initial bench testing and observed interesting, informative and entertaining results. Once I got the IP addresses and the udp/tcp aspects sorted I am very happy with the programs - great job Bernt and all who contributed and tested.

Before I got the parameters sorted I activated the Pi and the Mission Planner PC and I got a still picture from the picam superimposed directly within the Mission Planner HUD. When all IPs and connections were correct, the streaming video was received by way of a separate gstreamer window.

This raises the question: What prevents us from displaying the streaming video directly within the Mission Planner HUD? I currently use the Patrick Duffy HUD, but every time I change a MP setting, the HUD screen goes behind the MP window and I have to put it back out in front to continue to see it.

Interesting.
I havent seen the last updates Michael Oborne has implemented into Mission planner. It might be that MP support gstreamer directly, that would be awesome.

Sinamics i really like where you are going with the GUI you posted a screenshot of in Post #139.

May I ask where you are at getting it up and running for a cloud server (AWS)? I tried getting OpenVPN to work, but was unsuccessful, most likely due to OpenSSL being outdated on the RPi3 (it's not easy to update). I'd like to be able to just type in the IP address of the cloud server into my GCS and be connected to my vehicle instead of connecting another 4G dongle to my GCS laptop.

I have not tested the latest version of Navio Raspian, nor do i know what changes they have done.
But i think you should be fine using UAVcast. Give us an update if you stumble on any issues.

Just succeded in getting one-way communications from AT&T IoT LTE shield to my Mission Planner GCS. The LTE shield connects to the Pi/Navio2 by way of a USB port that also runs the Navio2.

The challenge now is that the AT&T IoT service only gives a private internet IP address (example is 10.192.1414.56). With that I can only send from the Pi/Navio/LTE to the GCS, not from the GCS to the Pi/Navio2/LTE. So I still need to use my 433MHz RC as the primary control.

Is there a way to achieve two-way communications between the Pi/Navio2/LTE and the GCS given that the LTE device gets a private IP address?

i started with AT&T 340u netgear modems initially, but had similar issues as you are experiencing. Too many issues - not being able to get a public IP address (unless I paid them $500 and signed up for business service), issues loading the Linux drivers and getting a connection, etc. That is why I switched to Sprint (even got a discount through my Credit Union on their service). Perhaps you can find out from AT&T what is in their network that is obstructing the connection, perhaps something in how they have implemented NAT. I was not successful talking to their business representatives about this, even though I worked at AT$T at the time.

Hi Bernt, I installed UAVcast, when I reboot my Pi3B, the UAVcast.service failed... I didn't know why.
The last part of the post massage, I't quit different as your video, is there something wrong?

Try to use sudo command when running the UAVcast Installation. It might be a permission issue.

Sinamics What a surprise! Thank you for help! I do use sudo for installation, every time PI3B rebooted, the service is runing, but after few minutes, the service dead... I thought was something wrong about my Internet connection, because I'm in China... Every time I installed the UAVcast, the PI3B tried 3 times to get "json-c-0.12tar.gz".
Please forgive my pool English 🙂

Anyon have scussesful got UAVcast running using Navio 2 with EMLID rasberrian image ?
Because for my testing , i be flashed the latest emlid image and install Uavcast, but when I start UAVcast , it said adruplane can not started .

Anyone have experience for this ? Please help

it seems like Emlid has rebuild their Arudpilot package . I have not implemented the latest update.
I will recommend using their installation procedure until i have done some more testing.
