Im also at 80 -> 100% telemetry quality, but never had any glitch in signal..

Couple of Q

Seems like there has been very hot inside?? There are some burn marks at the top cover!
Which GPS type do you use?
What is the screen type thing in the front?

The burn mark was a great idea of mine to put esc inside with a wrong propeller/ battery type = nearly burn everthing ... strange because i knew it but still done it ?

The black box at the front is my alcatel mifi modem 4 g lte from orange ... could not configure my stick 4g ...pretty bad but with the mifi works great !!

The gps is from drotek.com a great French start up who makes electronics in Toulouse ( next to airbus) quality is amazing ( no cheap chinese pcb) with a great price. This gps is xl version of M8N at eur 30 who can pick up 17 sats.. there are smaller ones too

Sinamics yes i build my own batteries now either from recycled laptop or new ones... this one is 3s/6000 mah ....

Sinamics can t remember weight but it s same as turniguy 5000 mah... flight time never went till the end so not sure

I used uavcast only for telemetry no video feed yet. No issues , i think at some stage i lost connection, but re connected ....

here we are ... a video of a mission (5.5 kms total, max dist from home 1.8 km) with Fx 61 rasp 3 and PH 2.1 ...sorry quality is so bad using stabilization from imovie...quite windy day .... sun in front ... not an expert in filming...anyway success mission with 94% of signal strength using uavcast ...better then my RFD900 ....

Are you satisfied with the 1.3Ghz video quality? what resolution do you get using that?

Due to many of my articles are outdated, I will just make a build list for those who want to build a cell controlled Drone in shortest time. I will try to keep it clean and informative.

Vehicle

**RPI ** 0/1/2/3/4 with UAVcast-Pro Sinamics
**Extra Power ** source for RPI. I’m using 5A 5V Bec. Sinamics
**USB camera **. Preferably PiCam
**USB cell modem **. See UAVcast supported modems Huawei E3372H has worked perfectly for many people.

Ground Control

Laptop or Android device tested by mocart for capturing video and telemetry
USB Gamepad as controller. See the layout Sinamics
**USB modem ** (Video and telemetry port to be opened. Default 14550 and 5000)

Tools

**Port checker **. ~~Verifiy that your port is open Sinamics~~ Now Inlcuded in **UAVcast **

video is set up with fatshark 600 tvl camera hook up with chinese 1.3 ghz 2.5 watts ... a use a pole of 3 m hight with ibcrazy antennas .... resolution is 480 ...quite low but distance is quite fair for a euro 50 kit...

my controller is 9XR with easy UHF from immersion RC
airframe is FX 61 phantom from zeta

this flight time was 12 minutes ... normally I get 35 min

if weather is nice tomorrow I will try to hit 10 kms total flight (with 5 kms away from home)...maybe be windy so I may switch to my Go discovery plane from HK ..will see

I will try my C920 cam tomorrow ....I got it working with VLC but a bit of latency ...I will try with Gstreamer ..let see if I can get the video stream on my PC ...

flight area is outside madrid ...quite green now ... lots of green oaks ... everywhere...not good to fly low altitude..lost a lot of planes ...

Just download gstreamer and select all plugins during installation.
Use this pipeline on your computer.

gst-launch-1.0.exe -e -v udpsrc port=5000 ! application/x-rtp, payload=96 ! rtpjitterbuffer ! rtph264depay ! avdec_h264 ! fpsdisplaysink sync=false text-overlay=false

Was the video recorded locally on a laptop after being streamed or locally on the pi on the uav? Or even on a standalone camera such as go pro session

EDIT - ive just read the rest of the posts.
What are you using the 4g connection for? purely controlling the copter? If so what is the set up? I.e. Controller>Laptop>4gmodem>internet>4g modem on plane.

Where are you both seeing signal strength ?? What is the signal strength actually showing? The 4G connection strength of what? just the "UAV to internet" OR "Laptop to internet" OR "laptop > internet > UAV"

I m using uavcast only to stream telemetry (via 3g/4g network) data from pixhawk 2.1 (worsk same on pixhawk. Apm) ...video is coming from cube ...quality is quite poor and shaky

Today flown mission 8.8 km ...max dist 3.7 kms from home with 94% strengh signal on 4g network !!!

vibmad So you are not controlling the drone via 4g? Just receiving telemetry data over 4g?

and the fatshark is transmitting 1.2ghz for FPV whilst flying?

Terrysavage for radio i m using uhf 433 ... i have video connect to a screen on 1.3 ghz .... but such a good signal i guess you can radio/video over 4g easily
